Narak Chaturdashi is a major celebration of Hindu religion. This is one of the major celebrations during time of Diwali festival in India. This Narak Chaturdashi festival observes on fourteenth day of month of Kartik. This day has importance not only for Narak Chaturdashi but also as the day of Hanuman Jayanti.

This is the birth day of lord Hanuman a great servant of lord Rama. On this day Hanuman reached to Ayodhya to give a massage about arrival of lord Rama to Ayodhya. Narak Chaturdashi is the day when lord Krishna Killed a demon named Narkasur. This day celebrated on third day of diwali festival.

Narka Chaturdashi In India :

Narak Chaturdashi is the day which is also celebrated as a day of Chhoti Diwali a small form of Diwali festival. On this day people worship goddess Laxmi for good fortune, prosperity, wealth, good health and for peace of family. They also performs various religious acts on this day. People cracks firecrackers and decorate home with lamps. All of this fucntion can not be performed at a large scale. So it is called as choti diwali. It is a small form of Major Diwali day.

Narak Chaturdashi is also famous for a ritual bath. On this day after killing of demon Narakasur lord Krishna taken an oil bath to remove blood from his body. So people also takes an oil bath to follow these ritual acts of this day.

Narak Chaturdashi will be observe on fourteenth day of Kartik month of Hindu calendar as Chhoti Diwali. This will be the time of happiness and enthusiasm among people of India.
