Chhath Puja is the celebration to worship God Sun or Surya Bhagwan. Chhath Puja celebration falls after six day of diwali. Chhath Puja is the 6th day of new moon of Kartik Hindu month. Chhath Puja is mainly celebrated in north India states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand etc. Apart from that it is celebrated by all the devotees from these places celebrates it across the country and world.

People worship god Sun for his kindness and seek forces of nature like sun and river. Women keeps strict fast on this day and worship God Sun during holy Bath into river. On the day of Chhath Puja people goes to holy bath at river. They offers arghya to God Sun to thank for giving sunlight to earth. It maintains the balance of environment and help to growth of crops.

People offer Fruits, Sweets and many things to God Sun which prepared on earthen Chulha (Oven). “Thekua”- a weate based sweet, is specially offered to lord Sun. After Taking Holy Bath into pond and river including Ganga and Yamuna, distributing Sweets and fruits are also performed as well.
