On this day womenfolk prepare Poha or Pova with fresh rice and other dishes to celebrate this festival. The culture of this type of activities is not only followed in rural India but also in urban India by farmers.

Diwali falls in the month of October/November, the time of cropping of fresh rice so it has a great significance in all over India. The season is also known as Kharif season a time of Harvest Festival of Diwali. People celebrate it with Laxmi poojan and with cows respect.
