The festival of Diwali beautifully celebrated in the state of Orissa. It is a time of festivity of Orissa. People of Orissa rejoice it as a festival of Diyas and Rangoli. There is no so much difference of celebration of Diwali from other states of India. People of Orissa celebrate the festival for five days and each day of this festival is important one.

Diwali Festival in Orissa –

People prepare an earthen pot and tied it on a tall bamboo. The pot has some windows. People decorated diyas on those windows. They use different type of jute to light those diyas. In Orissa people celebrated this festival traditionally. They make rangolies on various place of there houses to invite goddess laxmi for prosperity and wealth.

The festival of Diwali celebrated in all over the world. It is a festival of joy and traditions. On the day of Diwali the Lord Rama the greatest individual of our mythology reached to Ayodhya back with his wife and brother laxman. He came back after killing his enemy a demon Rawan. It was the victory of lights over darkness.

Diwali is a festival starts from thirteenth day of the month of Kartika of Hindu calendar. It is the day known as the name of Dhanteras. Diwali is a five day celebration and Dhanteras is first one of this festival. Diwali is the fifteenth day of dark moon night of the month of kartika come after two days of Dhanteras. Diwali is the last day of Hindu calendar. On this day merchant closes their old accounts.

In Orissa the festival of Diwali celebrated as a festival of so much brightness in all around the parts of houses and streets. Orissa enjoy this

festival with human feelings and take it as an inspiration of new and positive way of life.
