Guru Brahspati Bhagwan (Jupiter) Temple at Alangudi:

Arulmigu Abathsagayeswarar temple or Guru Bhagwan temple at Alangudi is well-known as a Parihara Sthalam for Lord Dakshinamurthy or Lord Guru Bhagavan. This is one of the “Navagrahas” and it is a sign of Jupiter planate as per horoscope science.

This is a most beautiful holy place in Tamil Nadu and also known with the names of Thiru Erumpoolai, Kasi Aranyam, Alangudi and Jananatha Saruppedimangalam. Alangudi is also famous as the name of ‘Thirumana Mangalam’ as Goddess Parvati after a laborious self-punishment required the hand of the Lord in marriage in Alangudi.
