Holi is an antique festival of the India. It was called as a Holika. Scholars supposed that it was celebrated by Aryans and mostly it was observe in the eastern part of the country. Holi festival was present many centuries before

Christ. As well as years passed, its meaning has changed. In present, a special ritual performed by married women for gladness of their families.

On this occasion the full moon was worshiped by the women. The festival had described in spiritual works like Jaimini’s Purvamimamsa Sutras and Kathaka Grhya Sutras. It also has description in the Narad Purana and Bhavishya Puran.
