Karwa Chauth is a festival for all married women to get close to their in-laws. Karwa Chauth comes on nine days before diwali on the fourth day of Hindu Kartik month (October – November). A woman keeps a fast for her husband, who becomes her protector after she leaves her parents home. Her husband provides her with food, shelter, clothing, respectability, comfort and happiness. It begins from sunrise and ends after prayers and worshiping the moon at night. No food and water can be taken after
