Mothers Day came into being due to the efforts made by Ms Julia Ward Howe and Ms Anna Jarvis. Since then the world has been celebrating Mothers Day with joy and attachment.

The children of all ages care for their mother on this special day. It is the one day out of the year when children, young and old show in a real way how much they understand their mothers. On Mother’s Day morning some children follow the custom of serving their mothers breakfast in bed.  The children give gifts to their mothers brought by them. Adults give their mothers red flower. If their mothers are departed, they may bring white flowers to their grave.  On this special day family members do not want Mom to cook dinner so they take their mother to restaurants. On Mother’s Day the children present mothers with flowers, handmade cards and other special gifts.
