The colourful state of the most visited state of Rajasthan. The Winter Festival of Mount Abu contributes generously to this popularity. This annual festival is celebrated from 29-31 of December. This festival emerged decades ago when the people took a relaxing break  from their  hectic daily routine and gather together to interchange ideas and mutually entertain with a lot of liveliness spruced up by the folk music and dance.

Mount Abu Winter Festival:

This Winter Festival is the fruit of the joint effort of Rajasthan Government and Mount Abu Municipal Corporation. The festival commences with a fun filled procession from Hotel Shikhar to the magnificent Nakki Lake.

This Nakki Lake is the spot where artisans from all over Rajasthan, Gujarat and many other states display their talents. The three day celebration boasts of many events which have become rituals. Deepdan is one such ritual when hundreds of diyas are immersed in this Lake. The breath-taking view of these floating diyas is worth the visit.

The skyline of Mount Abu bursts out with the lightning of fire crackers. The sky is decorated with these fabulous vibrant fire crackers while the city itself is beautiful for this wondrous occasion.

Rajasthan is endowed with a rich culture if folk dance and music. People proudly display their talents which become a visual and spiritual treat. Ghoomars, daph and gair are some of the mediums of talent showcase.

The competitive spirit of the visitors and the participants are quenched by the sporting events of camel race, boating competition, cricket matches, etc.

Foreigners indulge in the famous Rajasthani handicrafts that are displayed for sale during the festival. The Rajasthani dress materials are a favourite of the Indian and foreign tourists. The taste buds are tantalized and satisfied by the wide variety of cuisine available. Mount Abu is easily accessible to the tourists as it is well-connected by trains, buses, taxis, flights, etc.
