India is a country of festivals. In India many festivals are celebrated like Diwali, Raksha bandhan, Ram Navami, Holy, Akshay tritiya etc. Raksha bandhan is a one of the most important and hallow festival of India.

It is committed to the love and affection mutual between brothers and sisters. Raksha bandhan festival is celebrated on the purnima in the ‘Shravana month’.

It gives a message of harmony to each person in the country. Basically rakhi is a pure thread. It is a symbol of love between brothers and sisters. On the raksha bandha sister tied a rakhi at the brother’s hand. In turn brother gives her any gifts or money.

On this occasion sisters pray for brothers to long live and brothers promise them to care life long. Brothers have many choices of gifts to give sisters like dress, a hand watch, chocolate box, sari, necklace etc. Many songs, poems, messages and thoughts are dedicated to the festival of raksha bandhan.

A beautiful poem we can see here below :-

A Sister is Forever

A sister’s a sister forever, A bond that diminishes never,
A friend who is kindly and caring, A sibling God chooses for sharing,
Few ties as deep and profound, And with so much affection abound,
Though some thoughts are seldom expressed, Love endures and survives every test.
Of the constants that rest in the heart, A sister’s a primary part,
She’ll always be there when you need her, You listen, you value, you heed her,
As growth, independence you ponder, Your feelings grow deeper and fonder;
And life tells you one thing that is true:, A sister’s a large part of you.
