Saraswati goddess is known as a goddess of knowledge, arts and music. Her sister is a goddess Laxmi and brothers are Ganesh and Kartikeya. She is supposed to be Brahma’s companion. In Buddhism Saraswati is called guardian deity who offered protection to lord Gautama Buddha to uphold his teachings.

Saraswati is a holy river according to Rig-Veda as well as goddess.  before she is know as a goddess of river but in the post Vedic age she also became a goddess of knowledge, literature, music etc. She is a magnificent, light skinned woman who wears a pure white dress. Saraswati rides on a swan. She is often seated on the white lotus. A lotus represents her experienced of complete truth. Her white dress signifies the transparency of real knowledge. She also related with yellow color.

It is a color of the Mustard flowers that flourished in the spring season; it is a time of her festival. She has four arms which signify the four aspects of human nature. In learning four aspects of human personality according to goddess Saraswati are given as below -

  • Mind power
  • Intelligence
  • Attentiveness
  • Self-worth
