Gangaur is all about the goddess of Gauri. Gangaur is celebrated on April 13-14. Parvati (Lord Shiva’s wife), it is sign of purity and seriousness. Gangaur represents Lord Shiva and Parvati together. It believes that Parvati come to her home during Gangaur, to bless her friends with married happiness. Parvati was given a way out by her loved ones and Lord Shiva arrived her home on last day. This festival starts a day after Holi.
Gangaur Pooja and Fast :
On the first day of this vrat, ladies bring the ashes from Holika Dahan and by mixing soil, which they make the statue of Goddess Gauri. On next morning they worship the statue at the bank of river. They come back in group by singing the songs.
