Maker sankranti is a most auspicious occasion for the Hindu religion. It is celebrated in all parts of the country and even in the world today. It is represents the day when the Sun enter in Capricorn zodiac. In North India it is also known as a ‘Khichdi’ or “Til Sankranti”.
It is celebrated according to the position of the Sun. On this occasion a great spiritual Ganga Sagar Mela is held. Devotees take a sacred dip in the Ganga Sagar to remove their negativities and good things in life.
