Parshuram the Sixth Avatar of Lord Vishnu:

Parshuram the sixth avatar of Vishnu is the height of bravery. He proved devotion towards his parents. The birthday of Rishi Parshuram or Parshuram Jayanti is celebrated on the 3rd day of the dazzling half of Vaishakh month also known as Akshay Trutiya. Akshaya Tritiya is another name of the Lord Parshuram jayanti.

This is one of the luckiest days according to the Hindu calendar Bhargav Parshuram is most known for abolition the world of kshatriyas. He played important roles in the Mahabharata and Ramayana and was guru of Karna and Drona. Parshuram was the founder of the Bhumihar, Chitpavan, Daivadnya, Mohyal, Shukla, Awasthi and Tyagi are Brahmin communities. People belief that the good act obtained on this day is permanent. Akshaya Tritiya is also known as “Akha Teej” and it is the birthday of Lord Parshuram. People perform special poojas on this day, they takes holy bath dips in divine rivers, makes a charity and worship Lord Ganesha & Devi Lakshmi on this day.

The day on which Moon, Sun and Jupiter combined under Mrigshira Nakshatra is called Akshaya Tritiya. It is believed that Akshaya Tritiya marks the beginning of the Tetra Yuga. People keep fast on Parshuram Jayanti and are also called Parshu Rama Dwadashi. Parshuram received an axe after task terrible self-punishment to please Shiva. Ganga Devi or Mother Ganges also descended to earth on this day.

Once Jamadagni was angry with his wife Renuka and ordered Parshuram to murder her. Parshuram obeyed him and killed his mother. Sita Navami is celebrated as birth anniversary of Goddess Sita. Sita Jayanti is celebrated on Navami Tithi during Shukla Paksha of Vaishakha month. believed that Goddess Sita was born on Tuesday in Pushya Nakshatra. This day is also known as Sita Jayanti. Married women keeps vrata on Sita Navami day and pray for long lives of their husbands.

Goddess Sita was married to Lord Rama who was also born on Navami Tithi during Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month. Goddess Sita was the wonderful mate of Lord Sri Rama Chandra and is now worshiped by millions who pay service to her pativratam. It is the most important day for married Hindu women in the country.

On this day, devotees keep fasts and pray to Sita Devi to grant their husbands long lives. Lord Rama and Sita Devi are also prayed together for wealth of the family and for peace and happiness in marriage.
