important festival celebrated by people. Cheti Chand is the second day of the Chaitra month of the Hindu calendar (March-April).

Cheti Chand is celebrated in the respect of the birth of Ishtadeva Uderolal known as Jhulelal by the Sindhi people. This day is very important and is celebrated with splendor and joy. This day is a birthday of both Jhulelal and Guru Nanak’s. It is also known as Cheti-I- Chand. The businessmen start with new accounts books on this day. Jhulelal save the Sindhis from the autocracy who wanted to destroy the Sindhi people culture. Men perform the folk dance on Sindhi music. All the organisation and schools are closed on this day.

Sindhi People celebrate this festival with happiness and joy. On this day people worship and say thanks to God of water, without our life is impossible. Sindhi people see and worship the moon. Aarti is performed on this day. On Cheti Chand Baharana Sahib is taken to nearby river or lake. Baharana Sahib consists of fruits, sugar, flower, leaves and coconut and idol of God Jhulelal.
