Diwali celebration is best ever in festival culture of Hindu. On this day Lord Ram (Legend god of Hindu) came to Ayodhya after making victory over Ravan (King Of lanka). People of Ayodya Lights “Deepak” (small Pot of mud) of “Gee” (oily Product Of milk) for welcoming their king. So this festival is also known as “festival-of-deepak (lights)”. This festival is celebrated across the cuntry with great exitment and full of Joy on Amavasya (Night Without Moon) of Holy Month kartik.

People starts to celebrate this festival by Applying Rangoli and Various Designes at the doorstep, write holy sentence like Subh-Diwali at the doorstep and outside wall of house by early morning. Women cook special sweets and delicious thing for Lunch and dinner. At evening people lights Deepak on rangoli and doorstep of house and also lights deepak at every Temple nearer about them specially temple of goddess Laxmi.A Grand level pooja and worship is arranged at night according to “Shubh-Muhurat”( Good time to start).

Diwali is the celebration of lighting. This five days festival is celebrated across the country with full of joy and happiness. Diwali falls on the “Amvassya” (15th day of Sukla Puksh of month Ashwin) after two days of Dhantrayodashi festival. Diwali actually starts with the celebration of Dhantrayodashi. It’s the first day of Diwali celebration.

After Dhantrayodashi, “Roop – Chaturthdashi”, Diwali, Goverdhan Pooja and Bhai – Dooj is celebrated day by day for five days. Diwali is the third day of this five day celebration on which Goddess Laxmi is worshiped.

This festival is actually to worship goddess Laxmi for wealth and prosperity. Legend behind this festival is that after killing demon Ravena, Lord Ram returned to his Home town on this day. People of “Ayodhya – home town of Lord Ram, decorated town to welcome their kind king. They lighted “Deepak“- a small pot of clay filling up with gee or oil, to light up the town.

Diwali Festival is celebrated day by day in following form :-

1. Dhantrayodashi pooja :-
On this day “Dhan” (wealth) is worshiped. The God of wealth and prosperity “Kuber” and God Dhanvantari – physician of the God’s are worshiped. Yama – God of Death, is also worship to secure life from death. This is starting day of great five day celebration of Diwali festival. On this day women wakeup early in the morning and bring Clay of farm before sunrise.

They also bring mud of cow and put both into the water. A past of clay and Cow’s mud is prepared to apply at traditional “Chulha” (clay made burning Source on which food can be prepare), at doorstep and at place of pooja. Gatsthapna- Putting a pot of clay, filling up with water over some rice is performed. Rangoli is designed at place of pooja, doorstep and various spots of house. At night “Deepak” or “Deeya” ( small pot of Clay Filling up with Gee or oil) lighted up and put at doorstep and place of pooja.

2. Roop Chaturthdashi :-
The second day of Diwali is Roop – Chaturthdashi. On this day worship is performed for beauty and health. People worship to god for better beauty and health to enjoy their life. Some people perform Sadhna (meditation) on this day.

3.Diwali :-
Third day of Diwali festival is Main celebration of this festival. People wear new clothes and goes to market for buying Sweets, firecrackers, Things for Pooja etc. at night “Laxmi- pooja” – worshiping Goddess Laxmi, is performed. After pooja Sweets are distributed to people. Firecrackers are fired by children’s and younger’s.

4. Goverdhan Pooja :-
On this day women bring mud of cow and collect it at common place. After wearing new traditional clothes they come back to that place and design statue of God Ganesh. A proper pooja is performed of God Ganesh.

5. Bhai – Dooj :-
Last day of Diwali festival is Bhai – Dooj. On this day married women Comes to their parents home. They do pooja of their brothers for their long life and prosperity. Brothers offer some kind of (more…)
