Nirjala Ekadashi is the festival which falling during the time of Shukla Paksha of Jyeshta month of Hindu calendar. This is the festival which is also famous among the people as a name of “Jyeshta Shukla Ekadashi”. its  another name of this festival is “Bhimasani Ekadashi”. Bhimasani Ekadashi is the name derived from the name of Bhima the strong bother of Pandavas and a great character of a great epic of India called “Mahabharata”.

Nirjala Ekadashi is popular among the people for it’s a hard rule of fast. On this day people worship lord Vishnu and performed a fast without taking a drop of water during the whole day. They ate food just a single time in evening of the day of Nirjala Ekadashi. They also perform various religious acts to make happy the lord Vishnu.

It is a saying that people who perform a fast according to rules and regulation of this fast got fruits for this action during the time period of whole year. In all over the India Nirjala Ekadashi celebrated as a major festival of Hindu religion and performs all of the rules of this religious occasion of Hindus.
