January 26, 1950. this date is celebrated as Republic Day of India. The Republic Day is celebrated with much enthusiasm all over the country and especially in the capital, New Delhi. where the celebrations start with great joy. The Indian constitution was adopted on this day. The Indian constitution was formed by the Indian Constituent Assembly.

To mark the importance of this occasion, every year a grand parade is held near the india gate in New Delhi. The different regiments of the Army, the Navy and the Air Force march past in all their finery and official decorations. The President of India who is the Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Armed Forces, takes the salute. The other program as like cultural dance and activities are also. at last traditionally ends with a fly past by Indian Air Force jets. It is the social celebration in which people participate in large number.

The main events of the day begin with the Prime Minister laying a wreath at the Amar Jawan Jyoti at India Gate. The president of india give the Param Veer Chakra, the Veer Chakra and the Maha Veer Chakra to the outstanding soldiers from the defense services.

This day celebrated all over in india in. The student organised traditional dance and programme in academies, schools and colleges and celebrated with great happiness and joy. Many social societies and govt. academies serve sweets among the children. Though the Republic Day Parade and colorful programme is the main ceremony and attraction and various activities are held from early in the morning.
