It is famous that Vindhyavasini is a form of the goddess Durga. Goddess Durga was settled in Vindhyachal Mountains after diminished a demon named Mahishasura. This form had taken the birth as goddess Vindhyavasini. Vindhyavasini Puja is the time to worship the goddess of power and energy. On that time people engages in various ritual acts. They performed fast for a whole day with the feelings of purity. They donate cloths and food to poor and hungry people. They also become active with social work.
